Navigation Path

To create a new scheduler:

  1. Log in to the Polar Cloud.
  2. Click on Devicesfrom the main menu.
  3. Select your device.
  4. Open the device’s Dashboard.
  5. Click on the Scheduler on top of the screen.
  6. Click Addto create a new scheduler.

This will open the Add Device Scheduler screen.

Scheduler Setup Screen

When adding a scheduler, fill in the fields as follows:

Scheduler Name

  • Enter a descriptive name for the scheduler.
  • Example: “Borehole Pump Daily Schedule”

Description

  • Optional notes about what this scheduler does.
  • Example: “This scheduler turns on the borehole pump every day at 3:00 PM for irrigation.”

Run Time

  • Set the time to 15:00.
  • This means the borehole pump will be triggered at 3:00 PM.

Repeat On Day

  • Select Daily.

This ensures the borehole pump runs every day at 3:00 PM.

Advanced Settings

Click the Advanced Settings dropdown to configure where and how the scheduler runs:

  • Where to Run (Cloud or Edge):
  • Select Edgefor this example.
  • This ensures the borehole pump still turns on at 3:00 PM even if the internet connection is down.
    • Repeat Time:
  • Select None.
  • This means the pump will turn on once per day at the scheduled time, without repeating hourly or minutely.

Device Control Note

At the bottom of the scheduler setup, you may see:

No controls on this device.

This message means the selected device does not currently support direct control.
If controls are available, the scheduler will then be able to execute the automation (e.g., switching the borehole pump on).

Saving the Scheduler

  1. Review your details:
  • Scheduler Name: Borehole Pump Daily Schedule
  • Description: Turns on borehole pump every day at 3:00 PM
  • Run Time: 15:00
  • Repeat On Day: Daily
  • Advanced Settings: Edge, Repeat Time = None
    1. Click Create.
    2. The scheduler will now appear under the Borehole Pump device’s scheduler list.

Best Practices

  • Use clear and descriptive names for each scheduler (e.g., “Borehole Pump Daily Schedule”).
  • Fill in the description field to explain the scheduler’s purpose.
  • Use Edge mode for critical automations that must always run, even without internet access.
  • Use Cloud mode for centralized scheduling across multiple devices.

With this setup, the Borehole Pump will automatically turn on every day at 3:00 PM, without requiring manual action.
