CLOUD UPDATE: WhatsApp Alerts, Smarter Widgets and Easier Licence Management

Polar Cloud continues to evolve with practical updates designed to make daily monitoring easier, faster and more flexible for customers. This latest release focuses on improving how users receive alerts, manage licenses, view dashboard data and build monitoring layouts across their sites.

In this update, customers can look forward to:

    • WhatsApp notifications for site alerts
    • Easier upgrades for existing non-expired licenses
    • Aggregation and date range overrides in relevant widgets
    • The ability to duplicate widgets on a dashboard tab

These improvements are designed to help customers stay informed, reduce repetitive setup work and get clearer value from the data they already monitor.

WhatsApp Notifications for Site Alerts

Customers can now receive site alerts through WhatsApp notifications.

This gives users another practical way to stay informed when important events happen on site. Whether it is a threshold warning, equipment alert or operational event, WhatsApp notifications help the right people receive important updates quickly.

This is especially useful for teams that are often away from their desks, working across multiple sites or managing operations from the field.

With WhatsApp notifications, customers can:

  • Receive site alerts through a familiar communication channel
  • Improve response times to important site events
  • Keep operational teams informed while they are on the move

This update adds another layer of visibility to Polar Cloud and helps customers stay connected to their sites when it matters most.

Easier License Upgrades

Customers can now upgrade an existing non-expired license as their monitoring needs grow.

Previously, customers who purchased a license that only expired later in the year could not easily upgrade without losing the value of the remaining license period. With this update, Polar Cloud now takes the current active license into account when upgrading to a larger license.

When a customer clicks on the license purchase option, the system will recognise the existing non-expired license and apply the relevant upgrade logic. Customers will also have the option to purchase extensions where needed.

This is useful when:
  • A site requires additional monitoring capacity
  • More tags or features need to be added
  • Monitoring requirements change before the current license expires
  • A customer wants to expand their setup without waiting for renewal

This update makes license management more practical and flexible, allowing customers to scale their monitoring in line with their operational needs while still taking their existing license period into account.

Smarter Widget Views

Relevant widgets now support aggregation and date range overrides.

This gives users more control over how data is viewed, compared and understood directly from the dashboard.

Aggregation allows users to display data in a more meaningful way, depending on what they need to report on or analyse. Instead of only viewing individual values, customers can work with summarised views that make trends, totals and performance easier to understand.

Date range overrides allow individual widgets to use their own selected time period without changing the full dashboard view.

This is useful when a customer wants to focus on a specific time window, compare different reporting periods or highlight a particular operational trend.

With these updates, customers can:

  • View dashboard data in a more useful format
  • Apply specific time periods to individual widgets
  • Improve reporting and operational analysis
  • Build dashboards that better match the way their teams work

These widget improvements give users more flexibility and make Polar Cloud dashboards easier to tailor to specific monitoring needs.

Faster Dashboard Setup

Users can now duplicate widgets on a dashboard tab.

This makes dashboard setup faster and more consistent, especially when customers are creating similar views for different assets, systems or reporting requirements.

Instead of rebuilding a widget from scratch, users can duplicate an existing widget and adjust only what needs to change.

This update that can make a noticeable difference when setting up, expanding or refining dashboards.

Additional Platform Support: Metronomic Data

Polar Cloud can now support pulling Metronomic details into the platform.

This feature is available for customers who require Metronomic data visibility as part of their monitoring setup.
